Dachshunds (aka Weiner Dogs)
While doing a little reading on Dachshunds (aka Weiner Dogs), I realized in a former life, I really might have been one. The Dachshund is a short-legged, elongated dog breed of the hound family. I'm 5'10" and I have to have the 'regular' length pants taken up an inch...there's something wrong with that. It's also impossible for me to find a shirt long enough...I know I sound like some sort of a freak now...but really...it's far too easy for me to find a belly shirt...they all are!
Dachshunds are loyal, playful fun dogs, known for their propensity to chase small animals and birds with great determination and ferocity.
While I don't (usually) chase small birds or animals, if I did I would absolutely be ferocious and determined.
Many dachshunds are extremely stubborn, making them difficult to train.
Extremely stubborn - check!
According to the American Kennel Club's breed standards, "the Dachshund is clever, lively and courageous to the point of rashness, persevering in above and below ground work, with all the senses well-developed.
I've often been described as rash...
This was my favorite fact:
Their temperament and body language give the impression that they either do not know, or care, about their relatively small and comical stature. Individuals who are indulged may become snappy.
That about sums me up right there.
The Dachshund is known for his deep and soulful eyes and complex and telling facial expressions, the eyes having an "allure" that is quite commonly referenced in writings about the breed.
I know whenever people write about me, they always include a paragraph or two about my soulful/expressive eyes...
Seriously...there are way too many similarities...
Also – I am definitely going to have to check this movie out:

"Wiener Takes All", the documentary that follows two years in the life of the world of professional wiener dogs.
From the wiener dog racing circuit, to the Westminster Kennel Club Show, to the fields and tunnels of Texas, "Wiener Takes All" examines the entertaining, educational, and sometimes controversial world of competitive dachshunds.

Lump
You're in good company. Apparently Pablo Picasso had a Dachshund as a muse. Its name was Lump. How poetic.
