My-Space for Wanna-Be Athletes

I'm not sure if I am completely in the dark ages, but I recently discovered a new sports social networking website called Sportsvite (www.sportsvite.com) and I am obsessed with it. Now, I could be completely behind the times (as I am with fashion), and this could be very old news, in which case please tell me, but if I'm not read on...hell even if it is old news just placate me ok!?!

Ok, so I'm obsessed with Sportsvite not because I think the website is a great way for people to meet and play sports (which it does seem to be), but beacause I think it is hilarious that you can do a search for people in your local area who enjoy everything from Base Jumping to Four Square (over 107 sports listed) - and then you can specify who you are looking for based upon age, gender, skill and availability. You can even check a person's "Power Rating" - because I mean you wouldn't want to pick someone for your Capture The Flag team because they looked good and played a lot if they had a low power rating!!

I've only just learned about the site and am still becoming more familiar with it, but I promise to report back with more info...who knows - maybe I'll even give it a whirl myself! (for journalistic purposes only of course!).

PS - Rugby kids, you might want to use this as a way to find new recruits. I did a quick search and found over 30 woman in the area that list rugby as a sport they would like to play.
