Stuck in the Elevator

Today I got STUCK in an elevator. Yes, somehow these things just seem to happen to me. Two of my co-workers and I were on our way back up to our office from lunch and after letting a crowded elevator go we hopped in the elavator only to have it randomly stop on the 2nd floor. The door openned about 6 inches and then just quit. We all kind of looked around stunned at first and then it hit us that yes, we were actually stuck. So we hit the call button and the alarm button and finally building security answers us. They notified us that a mechanic was on-site and would be up very shortly to help us. They tell us to sit tight and we all just kind of look around like, ok, we won't go anywhere, not that we can.

So, after attemping and failing to open the door numerous times on the 2nd floor they informed us that they were going to bring us down to the 1st floor to get the doors open. We all agree (not that we had a choice) and after 10 mins of sitting we are on our way down. After getting stuck a few more times we reach the bottom (or so we think). Then we are heading right back up. Stopping on 7, then back down to 2, then up to 9 and the doors finally open. Hooray! We are FREE!! And they let us off right on our floor, how nice!

I think I might take the stairs down later...
